1. Played mostly soft-ball cricket growing up, and "never really aspired to be a fast bowler".

3. Produced a match-saving 64 in the first Test of Sri Lanka’s tour of England in 2006 -- his third Test -- and shared a 105-run stand with his captain Mahela Jayawardene after the team was made to follow-on 359 runs behind.
