A giant in New Zealand women's cricket, Debbie Hockley had a prolific international career. In Tests, she scored 1,301 runs at an average of 52.04, while in ODIs, she scored 4,064 runs at an average of 41.89.

In a career spanning over 20 years, Deborah “Debbie” Ann Hockley represented New Zealand in 19 Tests and 118 ODIs. Having made her debut in 1979, she led the New Zealand team in six Tests, all resulting in a draw. Accumulating a total of 1,301 runs at an average of 52.04, she also scored four centuries in Tests, with her best being an unbeaten 126. Adding to her batting abilities, she bowled right-arm medium and picked up five wickets.

In 118 ODIs, she amassed 4,064 runs at an average of 41.89 and also picked up 20 wickets. She has recieved New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to cricket.
