ATHAPATHTHU REACHES CAREER-HIGH RATING AS SRI LANKA AND PAKISTAN STARS CLIMB LATEST ICC WOMEN'S ODI AND T20I PLAYER RANKINGS

Sri Lanka’s veteran captain, Chamari Athapaththu led from the front, scoring 39 (22 balls) and 40 runs (15 balls) respectively in the first two of the three-match T20I series to help her side clinch the series over Pakistan in Dambulla. Her efforts were rewarded with a one slot move in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings to reach a career-best 729 rating points.  

Her teammate Imesha Dulani was the home team’s biggest mover in the batters’ list, she advanced 33 places to 23rd after her unbeaten 101 from just 64 balls helped Sri Lanka take the first match by six wickets.  

Some good individual performances saw movements for Pakistan’s players as well. Muneeba Ali reached career-best rating points of 538 when she skipped four slots to 30th among the batters thanks to her scores of 42 off 24 balls and 45 from 30 in the first two matches. Shawaal Zulfiqar was the week’s big batting table shaker, rocketing an incredible 869 slots to reach a career-best 52nd place thanks to innings of 63 and 48.  

In the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, Sri Lanka won the deciding ICC Women’s Championship series 2-1 against Pakistan in Hambantota which resulted in rankings gains on the batters' list for their three half-centurions: Harshitha Samarawickrama (71 off 92 balls), who went up four slots to a career-best 13th place, Athapaththu (52 off 38 balls) jumped three tiles to 18th and Hasini Perera (50 off 77 balls) hopped two spaces up to 35th.  

Pakistan's Gull Feroza’s 40 runs from 35 balls in a losing effort helped her advance nine places to 45th, making her first appearance in the top 50.  

Nashra Sandhu bowled her full allocation of ten overs conceding just 23 runs which saw her move up three places to 10th and regain her place in the top ten of the Women's ODI Bowling Rankings.
