Pakistan player Haris Rauf has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Pakistan ODI Tri Series match against England in Lahore on Sunday.

Haris was found to have breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “displaying conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game”.

In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to Haris’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the third offence in a 24-month period, taking his tally of demerit points to five.

Sunday’s incident occurred at the end of the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Haris, at the non-striker’s end, appealed for a wide and then argued with England all-rounder Will Jacks. Haris raised his bat and, and despite a warning from umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, continued arguing as he brushed past the umpire and walked towards Jacks.

Meanwhile, England have been fined 15 per cent of their match fee after they were ruled to be three over shorts after time allowances were taken into consideration.

In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

Haris and England captain Harry Brook admitted their respective offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for formal hearings.

On-field umpires Rashid Riaz and Sharfuddoula, third umpire Wayne Knights and fourth umpire Nassir Hussain levelled the charges.
