ICC AND YOUTUBE EXPAND GLOBAL ACCESS TO ICC WOMEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2026
Media release
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and YouTube will bring global cricket fans closer to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 than ever before in a bid to facilitate the growth of the women’s game in emerging cricket markets around the world.
As part of the collaboration, all official warm-up matches and the historic ICC Captains’ Carnival have already been streamed live globally on the ICC’s YouTube channel, while every match of the tournament will be available live in multiple territories.
Those markets include Nepal, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan, while dedicated audience development campaigns will also run across Malaysia, France, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand. Additional activity will support fan engagement in Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
The tournament’s YouTube offering will be further enhanced through local language content and commentary options, including dedicated feeds in Japanese, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai, building on the success of similar initiatives trialled during the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The initiative forms part of a broader fan-first strategy to make cricket more accessible, discoverable and engaging for audiences around the world, particularly across emerging markets where interest in the sport continues to grow rapidly.
Full match highlights and a wide range of video-on-demand content will also be available globally throughout the event, ensuring fans everywhere can follow all the action.
When viewers in India search for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, they will be able to access a dedicated page with relevant content, including match highlights and analysis, in one place. The activation marks a significant milestone for women’s cricket and reflects both the growing reach and relevance of the sport in the global digital ecosystem.
The opening match of the tournament between England and Sri Lanka on 12 June will also be made available on YouTube by Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, providing another opportunity for fans to experience the start of the biggest ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in history.
Finn Bradshaw, ICC Head of Digital, said: "The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 represents a significant opportunity to introduce new audiences to cricket and deepen engagement with existing fans around the world. Through our collaboration with YouTube, we are making the tournament more accessible than ever before through live coverage, local language offerings, creator-led storytelling and enhanced discoverability across the platform."
Gautam Anand, VP of YouTube APAC, said: "From football to cricket, YouTube is the global arena for premium sports. We are thrilled to partner with the ICC to bring the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 to our global community, giving fans everywhere a front-row seat. By opening access to emerging markets and introducing localised commentary, we are breaking language barriers, giving fans the freedom to watch, discover, and deeply connect with the sports they love - transforming this tournament into a shared global cultural moment."
