RAINEY APPROVED AS REPLACEMENT FOR MAQSOOD IN SCOTLAND SQUAD AT ICC WOMEN’S T20 WORLD CUP 2026

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has approved Hannah Rainey as a replacement for Abtaha Maqsood in the Scotland squad.

Rainey was named as a replacement when Maqsood was ruled out after sustaining a metacarpal fracture during their team’s warm-up match against Pakistan on 9 June.

The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.

The Event Technical committee of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 consists of Wasim Khan (ETC Chair, ICC General Manager – Cricket, ICC representative), Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager – Events & Corporate Communications, IBC representative), Beth Barrett-Wild (Tournament Director, host representative) and Stacy-Ann King (Independent nominee).
