Uganda has been confirmed as the proud host of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier, scheduled to take place from 8 to 14 March 2026 at the scenic Entebbe Cricket Oval.
This historic tournament will bring together five cricket nations – Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique and Sierra Leone – to compete for two coveted spots in the Africa Qualifier which will be staged later this year in Tanzania.
The Africa Qualifier event will feature higher-ranked regional sides, offering a pathway to qualification for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027, jointly hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal.
Cricket Uganda CEO Evelyn B. Shinyekwa said: “We are honoured to welcome Africa’s future stars to Entebbe. Hosting this qualifier is not only a privilege but also a chance to showcase Uganda’s growing cricket culture. We believe this tournament will inspire more young girls to take up the sport and strengthen the pathway for women’s cricket across the continent.”
