14 March - Hamilton - Pakistan player Sidra Ameen post-match press conference
Reporter: All my regrets are with you for the result. However, your individual performance was great, you had a great innings, what would you want to say about that?
Sidra: I would only like to say that if we had won, that would have been great.
Reporter: Sidra first of all lot of congratulations to you as you scored a 100 hundred today. However, in this game and in the last game as well, we had lost with very less margin. We have not been able to carry momentum and turn it into victory. What do you think, where is the problem? We had a good partnership, the opening pair also played awesomely, but instead of all of this, we were not able to take it over the line. Please enlighten us about this issue, if any?
Sidra: Yes, openers played very well. The captain and coach clearly advised us to take the game deep. However, we lost back-to-back wickets, which meant we were a few runs short. You know, whenever a team loses a wicket, it takes times to build a partnership and that results in a slow run-rate, costing 20-25 runs. Due to back-to-back wickets, we could not finish well which cost us this match.
Reporter: Thank you. Sidra many congratulations you have scored 100. What do you think, as you mentioned, captain advised to play long. Pakistan was in a very strong position. So what's the reason? Was Bangladesh bowling so great that we could not contain them? You played very well and scored a century. Was the pitch too tricky that except you all batters struggled to score big on this pitch?
Sidra: With Bisma we planned to play deep and play proper shots instead of rash shots. Wicket turned slow in the latter stage of the game and the Bangladeshi bowlers were bowling very well. I was trying to cut short deliveries and find gaps but I was not able to find it and yes, the credit goes to bowlers of Bangladesh who bowled very well in the middle overs.
Reporter: Sidra you have performed very well, scored a century and definitely would be feeling very happy. Whom would you like to dedicate your century? Is there any hope that Pakistan will win a match?
Sidra: I would like to say that we win and lose as a team. Although I had scored a century, I am not happy as I was not able to finish the game and snatch victory for my team.
Reporter: You played a great innings. Kindly let me know when you had a target of 235 in front of you, so what was the plan given to openers during the innings break? During the innings we also observed some talks going on about your bat. Would you please enlighten us about this?
Sidra: We were discussing during the innings break about how we should play well and take the game deep by maintaining a competitive run rate. Regarding the bat, the umpire was saying that your bat has a double logo. But actually there was no double logo, might be there was some sticker. So this was only about the bat.
