16 – Dane van Niekerk's age when she made international debut in Women's World T20 2009

The Proteas skipper, now 25, is 15th on the list of youngest debutants in women's T20 international cricket.

The all-rounder returned figures of 2/26 in her four-over spell on her debut, but her efforts were in vain as South Africa lost to the Windies by 3 runs. She could add just eight runs with the bat before she was dismissed by Anisa Mohammed in the chase.

Since her debut, Van Niekerk has scored over 3400 runs and has 176 wickets in international cricket.
