We asked fans on our social media channels which one spinner from any era they would pick in their best XI and the response was overwhelming.
Over the years we have seen how spinners can change the course of a game. Such is their impact that spinners have featured prominently in the list of top wicket-takers across formats.
Legends of the game, masters of their art – Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble are the three leading wicket-takers in Tests. Sri Lanka spin wizard Muralitharan rules the ODI charts as well. In the shortest format, Pakistan's Shahid Afridi and Afghanistan star Rashid Khan are among the top five.
With the wealth of spin-bowling superstars that have graced the game over the years, picking one could be a tough task. Let's take a look at the choices you made.

@anilkumble1074 had colossal aggression on d field. He was always @SGanguly99 trump card when chances were bleak during the course of games. @anilkumble1074 always raised his 🖐 hand when captain was itching for breakthroughs. pic.twitter.com/28rMeKDG6M— @Iam MmReDdY$ (@mmreddys2020) May 19, 2020
Murali for me though would love to play all 4 :-)— Prafy (@PrafulllaPhadke) May 19, 2020
Leg spinners can be expensive but wkt takers, however Murali 's economy is very good and he takes lots of wkts.
