17 October - Oman - Bangladesh Captain Mahmudullah post-match press conference
Scotland 140/9, Bangladesh 134/7
- Captain, definitely a disappointing start for Bangladesh. What do you think was the turning point of the match?
MAHMUDULLAH: I think Mushfi's wicket was a turning point, I think, because Mushfi was looking good today. Probably a safe batter has to stay.
But I think as a batting unit, I think we have disappointed ourselves, so it's a big concern, and we need to see things where we have made those mistakes and probably need to try not to repeat those mistakes in the next game.
- Concerning too many runs in the last seven or eight overs, is that a concern of you?
MAHMUDULLAH: Yeah, I think bowlers are on the right track. We picked up six wickets I think within 60 runs, but after that they had a good partnership.
I think I have to give credit to those batters who built those partnerships for Scotland. I think they played better cricket than us, and we were just not good enough tonight.
- How do you bounce back from this?
MAHMUDULLAH: Really disappointed. I think on that wicket, on that ground, I think 140 was very much gettable. As I've mentioned, as a batting unit I think we did a lot more mistakes than we did the right things, so I think we need to see those areas where we could have done better, and we need to pull our socks up and try to win the next game, definitely.
- And how would you comment on the venue and the atmosphere here in Oman today?
MAHMUDULLAH: It was fantastic. I think the ground was beautiful. The wicket was absolutely a stunner. The crowd was very good, as well. We had a good support, but we disappointed them.
