23 March - Christchurch - Pakistan Captain Bismah Maroof pre-match press conference
Reporter: Obviously you're coming off the back of your first World Cup win in 13 years, so what's the mood like in the camp ahead of this?
Bismah: First off, a sigh of relief - we were under pressure and it's good to have a win and I think we just need to carry this momentum forward. And yeah, we're looking for two matches ahead now.
Reporter: This will be the first time you played England since 2019. What have you made of them so far in the tournament?
Bismah: They are a good side and they have very good skills and who can win matches for them and I think we just need to stick to our basics and we're planning to play to our strengths and what potential we have and just stay in the process. And then we'll see about the result we've got yesterday.
Reporter: This is the first game that's going to be played in Christchurch. What have you made so far of the pitch and the ground?
Bismah: I haven't seen pitch and ground yet. We have a practice afterwards. So we'll have a look after that.
Reporter: Are you happy with the performance of your spinners in this tournament?
Bismah: The last one we played, I think they were up to the mark and the potential we have in the spinning department, I think we were under below in the tournament. I think they have could have done more better. But yes, they were very good in the last match.
Reporter: Have you been surprised by the lovely reactions that baby Fatima has had. Everyone seems to want to meet her. Have you been surprised all the players want to come and see her and give her a fiddle?
Bismah: Yes, I think she's a star and she's also enjoying the camera and I'm very excited to see how she looks at the camera and assuming what it is, I think when she'll be – when she will look at the pictures and she will be more excited to see that she is with her mum in the tournament in the World Cup.
Reporter: And have you been – has it made it all worthwhile from your point of view. You've obviously got to work really hard to get into the situation where you could play at this World Cup but particularly earning that victory over West Indies, it must have made all that hard work over the past few months really worthwhile?
Bismah: Of course I think this team has done a lot of hard work. But the results we had in the past, I think that has not got justice with the team. I think of course that will give us a boost as a team and of course for me I'm excited to be back and of course win was important and I'm very happy and but of course on the on the other hand, I want this team to carry on this momentum and look ahead.
Reporter: And you'll obviously be aware that you can stop England reaching the semi-finals.
Bismah: We are not thinking about that, it is just we are focusing on our team. We need to carry this momentum forward and we were waiting for a long time. So we don't want to lose this momentum.
Reporter: He wants to ask what do you think your team needs to do in the coming - to win more matches against top teams?
Bismah: Of course, the basics we need to be - we have to be really doing our best to stay right and the key moments we need to capitalize on that. And when batting we need partnerships and finish the game - that is important for our team.
