Reporter: Obviously, it's not over yet, and you'll be waiting on other results. But how would you sum up West Indies performance in the group stage? And what will you take out of it as positive? And what do you think you could have done better?

Deandra Dottin: I mean, well our first two games we came out on top, we knew coming into this tournament that it is going to be tough, , after every game we been actually traveling. But we knew that we have to win at least two games - our first two games, because we know the top four was hard. So tough teams, but I think that we could still take a lot of positive from this first group stage. I mean, we've played good cricket. Just that is just certain stages when it comes to the batting, we didn't put good runs on the board. But mainly, I still have a lot of positives to take from the first half.

Reporter: And personally for you, I mean, you've become known for these amazing catches. Can you tell us a little bit about today's one? And also what position you thought you guys were in as the match progressed?

Dottin: I mean, I'm very good at point, I just try to time as well as I can. But I think we were actually in a good position to come on top and to restrict South Africa to low total. But, I mean, unfortunately it got rained over.

Reporter: I have one question for you - seeing that back in 2017 when we played South Africa, we've had probably one of the worst games that we've had in our ODI history, for a very small total. Was there any sort of redemption in your mind to go in to get South Africa back and ensure we get to that semifinals?

Dottin: Well, I mean, I want to say it wasn’t like redemption, it was just a matter of coming out in the over reduced game and playing our best cricket to at least get two points on the board. Because of the situation we're in. But I wouldn't say is it is a redemption.

Reporter: Again, my question is, is there a sense of like a mixed bag sort of feeling at the moment? Finishing on seven points, on the one hand is not the worst, but the way you started the tournament and how it went after? How do you balance the positives and the negatives? What is the sense in the dressing room at the moment?

Dottin: I mean, the girls are still in good spirits, we always have that never say die attitude. We look at things as - Yeah, we had a good start to the tournament, but we look at it as like, everything happens for a reason. So I mean, like, it's not the result that we want, but we can only control what we can actually control at the time.

Reporter: So in that sense, is there a little bit of frustration in how the Bangladesh match and the Pakistan match? Did you all think that a win against Pakistan would probably have put you in the semifinals and is there like a sense of what if at the moment, or do you all look at seven points as a good outcome.

Dottin: I mean, you can't really say what if, at the moment because the game is already gone. But I think those two points really we needed to get those two points and then no, not knowing the outcome of today, well, then we would've actually been - So, but as I say, everything happens for a reason. So is just to look forward and just take the positives from here and the tournament is still playing so all its lost yet.

Reporter: Just as a general assessment of the tournament so far - we've seen in teams like Bangladesh come to the tournament and win, Pakistan have won their first match in a long time, what's your general feel of how the woman's game is progressing and the level of competitiveness among the teams?

Dottin: To be honest, I feel really - I feel excellent, because knowing that Bangladesh, Pakistan and those other teams are actually competing with top teams like ourselves, and England and Australia. I mean, like, that is what you want to see in women's cricket. You want to see that never die. I mean, they're not actually strong hitters like us in terms of hitting sixes and stuff, but they are competitive. So I mean, women’s cricket - I like the way that it is actually going at the moment. And I mean, with Bangladesh and Pakistan gaining more experience to play against a top ranked team. They can only get better from there.
