Ahmed Shehzad recalled for World Twenty20

Pakistan has recalled Ahmed Shehzad, the opener, for the ICC World Twenty20 2016.

Shehzad replaces Khurram Manzoor, who was a part of the original squad. Manzoor had played in the recently-concluded Asia Cup T20, scoring 11 runs in three matches.

Pakistan lost to India and Bangladesh in the group stages of the Asia Cup while registering wins against UAE and Sri Lanka, but failed to make the final, which was won by India on Sunday (March 6).

Shehzad, 25, last played a T20 International in New Zealand in January this year, and was initially not included in the World T20 and Asia Cup squads. He has played 40 T20Is overall, scoring 941 runs with the highest of 111 not out.

Pakistan is scheduled to play its first match against the team that qualifies from Group A, in Kolkata on March 16.
