Overview:

West Indies vs Pakistan, second ODI
Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua
July 9, 09:30 am local

West Indies came up with a dominant performance in the opening contest, with Stafanie Taylor leading the charge. It was an all-round show from the skipper, who registered figures of 3/29 with the ball and then followed it up with a classy knock of 105 not out. After the showing, West Indies are unlikely to ring in many changes and will hope that the tried and trusted formula does the trick again.

For Pakistan, Nida Dar (55) and Ayesha Zafar (46) came up with admirable efforts with the bat. But the target of 206 was never going to be enough on a belter of a batting deck. They will need more intent from their batters and will hope that the big names step up to the mark. Without a win on the tour so far, the team management might well decide to make some changes.

Remember the last time:

Batting first, Pakistan put up a score of 205/9 on the board in their 50 overs. They found it hard to put away the West Indies bowlers, who delivered a disciplined batting performance. In reply, Taylor's century ensured that the hosts won the contest with five wickets in hand and 13 balls remaining.

What they said:

Stafanie Taylor (West Indies captain):"You know I've been dreaming of this day, to finally pass that five hundreds and finally make it six, I'm really happy. I said to myself that I know I'm always in this position (with wickets down) and I like batting in 50-over games so it's a matter of getting myself in and once I know I get myself in and somebody else on the other end batting, we should get the runs."
