All Rhodes lead to Malaysia
Former South Africa batsman Jonty Rhodes will be the special guest star at the fourth International Youth Cricket tournament, jointly organised by the Kuala Lumpur Cricket Association (KLCA) and Royal Selangor Club (RSC).
Scheduled from July 30 to August 1, the event will feature an Under-15s boys tournament, a fund-raising gala dinner plus training sessions overseen by Rhodes for the national Under-17 and national women's squads.
In addition, there will be an opportunity 'Beat Jonty' in a fielding contest.
Tournament organising chairman R. Devindran is pleased to have Rhodes - who has been involved as a fielding coach with South Africa and in the IPL of late - on board.
"We have been keeping in touch with Jonty for a year. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation," said Devindran.
"He has been very obliging in accommodating our request."
A total of 24 teams will take part in the U-15 competition, including a strong list of sides from abroad including Cricket Federation of India, Singapore Cricket Club, Thailand's Phuket Cricket Association, Chittagong Cricket Club and Heritage Cricketers from Bangladesh and Australia's Casey Cricket Academy, Yarra Valley Cricket Association A, Yarra Valley Cricket Association B and Ferntree Gully Cricket Club.
