Australia confirm playing XI for second Test with Bangladesh
Matthew Renshaw comes into the XI to replace Jake Weatherald and Nathan Lyon hold his spot as Australia lock in their side to tackle Bangladesh in north Queensland.
Australia have confirmed the XI the side will use during the second ICC World Test Championship fixture against Bangladesh in Mackay.
Skipper Pat Cummins spoke with reporters earlier on Friday and the Australia skipper failed to reveal the XI the Aussies will use for the crucial second Test as he suggested the possibility of using a four-pronged pace attack that included Scott Boland playing at the expense of veteran spinner Nathan Lyon.
However later in the afternoon and following a pitch inspection, Cummins confirmed that Lyon had held his spot for the match and that Boland would once again miss out alongside back-up keeper-batter Josh Inglis
Renshaw will open alongside Travis Head for the second ICC World Test Championship contest, with the left-hander to replace fellow southpaw Jake Weatherald who was dropped earlier in the week.
Cummins did confirm that Renshaw would open the batting and the captain is confident the 30-year-old is ready to make his return to the Test setup.
"We just want his best," Cummins said.
"I think some of the kind of chat about Renners in the past is he can look different from day to day.
"I think now, when you get to your back half of your career as a batter, you want to really know what you look like at your best and I think he does that.
"That's the hope with Renners, is to keep bringing your best version every day. That's being nice and sharp, putting a bit of pressure back on the bowlers."
