The squad will be reduced and finalised closer to the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.
Commenting on the squads, Cricket Australia Talent Manager Greg Chappell said: "The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup is the pinnacle for young players aspiring to international cricket and the YSP has picked a talented and versatile preliminary squad of 30 from which we will then select the final squad in the middle of the year. The boys are very keen to defend the World Cup title in August this year.
"We still have another five months until the World Cup and we will use the upcoming Quad Series, the AIS program and a head-to-head series at home against Pakistan in July to fine tune our preparations in the lead-up.
"I'm sure all the players are looking forward to continuing their development as part of this preliminary squad.
"Quite a few players already have experience playing at U19 international level and more players will get that opportunity over the coming months.
"Players such as Pat Cummins, Cameron Bancroft, Kurtis Patterson, Travis Head and Meyrick Buchanan have already had opportunities playing at domestic level, while quite a few more have also played at Futures League level this season.
"These experiences continue to aid their development and we are seeing their skills progress and refine.
"The Quad Series against England, India and New Zealand will give these players another opportunity to gain further experience playing against the best opposition in world in their age bracket."
