Australia duo doubtful for Bangladesh, New Zealand series
Captain Sophie Molineux and pacer Lucy Hamilton will miss the opening rounds of domestic competition due to injury.
Australia captain Sophie Molineux and Lucy Hamilton will be out of action in the opening round of the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) season, putting a doubt on their availability for Australia's upcoming white-ball assignments.
Molineux has an injury to her hip joint, while Hamilton has a strain in her quadriceps, which will keep the duo away from their respective teams' games this week.
As per Cricket Australia, the squads for the ODI series against Bangladesh and a three-match T20I assignment against New Zealand are expected to be announced this week.
The fitness of their players will be assessed before making a final decision on their availability.
The WNCL though will see the likes of Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Voll, Ellyse Perry and Phoebe Litchfield all make appearances in the domestic competition ahead of the Bangladesh series.
The T20I series against New Zealand will be Australia's first assignment in the shortest format since being crowned world champions, while the ODI series against Bangladesh will be a part of the ongoing ICC Women's Championship.
