Disconcerted Australia were handed two back-to-back defeats by the West Indies who came up with dominant performances. The visitors’ batting woes continued in the second game as well after they failed to chase a gettable target of 146 in the first match.
In the second game, Australia could only manage to reach 140, chasing 197 with Mitchell Marsh the sole glimmer of hope in their batting line-up. To take down the Windies' threat, Australia will hope for a collective effort to mount a comeback in the series.
Remember the last time
West Indies displayed an electric batting performance that took the Australian bowlers by storm. Shimron Hetmyer’s 36-ball 61 and Dwayne Bravo’s knock of 47 with Andre Russell's finishing touch helped Windies post a formidable 196/4.
In response, the Australian batting line-up looked unsettled in the middle except for Mitchell Marsh who scored a half-century. The hosts knocked over Australia comprehensively on 140 in the final over and sealed the game with a 56-run win.

What they said:
Nicholas Pooran (West Indies stand-in captain): “We just said that we had to put a total on the board, do the same things we did last night but even better. The decision to send Dwayne up the order to keep a left-right combination was fantastic, seeing a senior player raising their hand and showing their experience.”
Mitchell Marsh (Australia player):“We certainly won’t make excuses but coming off three months of cricket, it can at times, take a little bit longer to get going. West Indies has been playing a lot of cricket and good cricket at the moment. We had a great preparation and we were outplayed which happens in T20.”
