Australia to take cautious approach with Smith
Australia will give Steve Smith plenty of time to recover from his latest concussion scare.
Smith was treated by Australian medical staff after a fielding incident late in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at the SCG on Sunday night.
The 32-year-old landed awkwardly on his head after unsuccessfully attempting to save a boundary during Australia's thrilling Super Over victory over Sri Lanka, and was immediately helped from the field by medics.
While Australia do not expect Smith to be sidelined for long, Cricket Australia wasted no time in ruling the right-hander out for the remainder of the T20 series against Sri Lanka.
CA are confident that Smith will return to full fitness quickly and be available for Australia's historic Test tour of Pakistan next month.
"(Smith) will be subject to low level protocols for the next few days and full recovery in 6-7 days," they said via a statement.
"He will miss the remainder of the series. No replacement in the squad is planned at this stage."
Thanks everyone for reaching out. My head has felt better but I will be ok. 🙏

The latest concussion scare is not the first time Smith has been concussed, famously subbed out of an Ashes Test at Lord’s against England in 2019 after being felled by a Jofra Archer delivery.
Smith also sat out a white ball series in England in 2020 after being struck while batting in the Old Trafford practice nets.
