Awana replaces an injured RP Singh in India A side

Pace bowler RP Singh has been ruled out of the A tour to the West Indies next month due to an injury in his right knee. He has been replaced by the Delhi right-arm seamer Parvinder Awana.
Many former cricketers and those who follow the game closely felt that Awana deserved to be in the original side picked after his performances on the domestic circuit. He has picked up 110 first class wickets from 32 matches at an average of just under 30.
Awana also picked up 17 wickets in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab in just 11 games, with best figures of 4 for 34.
RP Singh, who disappointed in his last outing for India during the tour of England in 2011, took ten wickets in 11 games for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The BCCI release on his replacement said that he has been advised a week's rest, after which he will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy for further injury management.
The Cheteshwar Pujara lead India A side will play includes three four-day games, three one-day matches and two Twenty20s in the Caribbean. The tour starts in Barbados on June 2nd.
