Bangladesh beat Ireland XI by 7 wickets
Bangladesh won the first of their warm up games at Comber when they turned in a thoroughly convincing performance to beat an Ireland XI by 7 wickets.
The Ireland XI never recovered from an early blitz from Mashrafe Mortaza (3-14) who removed Andrew Balbirnie and Andrew Poynter in the first over, and then followed it up with the dismissal of James Shannon.
Ireland XI skipper Andrew White tried to steady the ship with 16 from 25 balls, but once he and Stuart Thompson went, Ireland were in deep trouble at 58 for 6 with just 4.5 overs left.
The Irish total was given a semblance of respectability by Nigel Jones who hit an unbeaten 41 from 26 balls (1 four, 3 sixes), sharing an unbroken stand of 45 with Rory McCann (15*).
Elias Sunny (2-14), and Mahmudallah (1-11) were the other wicket takers for the Tigers as the Ireland XI finished on 103 for 6 in their 20 overs.
Stuart Thompson removed openers Tamim Iqbal (7) and Mohammed Ashraful (9) cheaply, but Shakib Al Hasan steadied proceedings with a run a ball 37 (4 fours, 1 six).
Captain Mushifuqur Rahim blasted 40 from just 25 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes) before being bowled by his Irish counterpart Andrew White with the winning line in sight.
Mahmudallah (11*) finished the game with a straight six as Bangladesh completed a comprehensive 7 wicket win with 5.4 overs to spare.
Bangladesh take on an NCU Select XI at the same venue starting at 5pm BST.
