Bangladesh has consolidated its seventh-placed position on the ICC ODI Team Rankings following its 3-0 series victory over Zimbabwe, which concluded in Mirpur on Wednesday.

Bangladesh has gained one point to rise to 97 points and has opened up a seven-point advantage over eighth-ranked Pakistan and reduced England’s lead to just two points, which can reduce further depending on how its series against Pakistan pans out.

In contrast, Zimbabwe has remained in 10th place following a series whitewash, a fraction of a point ahead of Ireland.

In the ICC Players Rankings for ODI Bowlers, Shakib Al Hasan, who missed the final ODI, has dropped one place to fourth on 699 points and is now six points behind New Zealand’s Trent Boult. Mashrafe Mortaza has retained his 19th position, however, there is better news for a trio of Bangladesh bowlers who have all made significant gains.

Arafat Sunny has vaulted 13 places to a career-high 39th and is now just a single point behind Razzak. Mustafizur Rahman, the 20-year-old left-arm paceman, continues his ascent having only made his international debut in June and has rocketed 25 places to a career-high 41st after taking eight wickets for 94 runs in the series, while Nasir Hossain has moved up 16 places to a career-high 79th.

For Zimbabwe, Tinashe Panyangara has climbed 13 places and is the African side’s highest-ranked bowler arising from the series in 50th place after claiming five wickets for 128 runs in three matches.

The top 10 in theICC Player Rankings for ODI Batsmen remains unchanged with South Africa’s AB de Villiers continuing to hold a commanding 96-points lead over India’s Virat Kohli.

Soumya Sarkar has moved up one place to join his team-mate Mushfiqur Rahim, who is now just 80 runs short of the 4,000 milestone after top-scoring in the series with 156 runs, in 17th place. The highest mover overall is Imrul Kayes who has broken into the top 100 (up 16 places to 98th). Zimbabwe duo Sean Williams (up six places to 40th) and Chigumbura (up eight to 48th) have also progressed up the rankings.

The all-rounder list is unchanged with Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan continuing to lead the way on 416 points, while Nasir Hossain has climbed six places to a career-high 14th.

The ODI Player rankings will be updated next on 21 November following the conclusion of Pakistan’s current series with England.
