Here's a round-up of all the action on the day five of the Qualifier.

Bangladesh vs Scotland

A half-century from Murshida Khatun and a partnership of 78 between her and Fargana Hoque laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s win over Scotland on Sunday in the ICC Women’s Commonwealth Games Qualifier 2022.

The stage for a fairly easy run chase was set by the bowlers, though, with Scotland bowled out for 77 in 17.3 overs. Though Scotland got off to a decent start, Nahida Akter picked up the crucial scalp of Katie McGill for 22 to spark a collapse that saw Scotland lose eight wickets for 27 runs.

Kathryn Bryce started Scotland’s defence on a terrific note, dismissing Bangladesh skipper Shamima Sultana for a golden duck, but it remained the only wicket Scotland could muster as Murshida and Fargana took them home with nine wickets to spare.

Malaysia vs Kenya

An all-round show from Mas Elysa paved the way for Malaysia’s first win in the ICC Women’s Commonwealth Games Qualifier 2022.

Having opted to bat first, Kenya lost opener Queentor Abel for a duck in the first over to Winifred Duraisingam, the Malaysian captain. Kenya couldn’t quite get going and ambled along to 24/2 in 8 overs when Mas Elysa was introduced into the attack.

She grabbed two for 19 as Kenya struggled to gain any momentum and finished on 87/6 in their 20 overs.

Queentor Aoko Abel of Kenya bowled out by Winifred Duraisingam

In reply, Queentor Abel found her revenge when she sent back her opposite number Winifred Duraisigam for a duck in the first over. Wan Julia was gone next over as Kenya started off well, but Mas Elysa’s composed 26-ball 37 and some handy aid from the middle-order ensured Malaysia reached the target with 10 balls and five wickets to spare.
