Bangladesh name squad for Sri Lanka ODI series
The three match ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka begins on April 20.
Bangladesh have announced the 15-member squad that is set to take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series at home starting April 20. The series will mark the Tigresses’ first ODI assignment since last year’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Bangladesh ODI Squad: Nigar Sultana (c), Nahida Akter, Fargana Haque, Sobhana Mostary, Fahima Khatun, Sharmin Akter, Ritu Moni, Shorna Akter, Rabeya Khan, Sarmin Sultana, Marufa Akter, Fariha Islam Trisna, Sultana Khatun, Shanjida Akther Maghla, Juairiya Ferdous
Sharmin Sultana returns to the ODI setup after seven years, having last played in an ODI against Pakistan in November 2019. Uncapped wicketkeeper Juairiya Ferdous has earned a call-up alongside off-spinner Sultana Khatun.
Juairiya is yet to make her ODI debut but featured in T20Is earlier this year during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier held in Nepal.
The upcoming series marks only the second-ever bilateral ODI contest between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and the first to be held in Bangladesh. The only previous series between the two sides took place in 2023, with Sri Lanka winning 1-0.
Following the ODI series, attention will shift to a three-match T20I series beginning on April 28. The contests will serve as crucial preparation for both sides ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to get underway on June 12.
