Bangladesh players rewarded in latest rankings update
The Asian side caused an upset when registering a narrow 13-run victory over South Africa in Benoni and it came on the back of some impressive performances from a large group of their players.
Opener Murshida Khatun hit an unbeaten 62* to help her side post a decent total and the left-hander jumped up seven places to 45th on the most recent T20I rankings for batters, while skipper Nigar Sultana moved up one place to 19th after her uneaten contribution of 34*.
South Africa opener Anne Bosch jumped 20 places to 14th on the same list - that is headed by Australia's Tahlia McGrath - following her 67 from the same clash, while it was Bangladesh's bowlers that made the biggest moves on the updated rankings.
Teenage sensation Shorna Akter picked up a five-wicket haul to claim the Player of the Match award and was duly rewarded by rising a whopping 46 places on the T20I bowler rankings, while teammate Rebeya Khan jumped five places to equal 24th after her economical spell of 1/17.
There was some further movement on the list for T20I bowlers that is headed by England spinner Sophie Ecclestone following the opening game of New Zealand's home series against Pakistan, with young spinner Eden Carson rising two places to a new career-high rating and 16th place overall after her contribution of 1/27 in Dunedin.
Teammate Sophie Devine moved up five places to 62nd for T20I bowlers and one place to sixth for T20I all-rounders, while Pakistan pacer Fatima Sana jumped a whopping 28 places to 49th overall on the list for bowlers after her three-wicket haul.
