Bangladesh squad for ICC U-19 World Cup announced
Mehedi Hassan was named captain of the Bangladesh Under-19 team as the selectors on Sunday (December 27) announced a 15-man squad for the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016.
Hassan has played 16 List A matches in which he has scored 251 runs at 17.92. That is apart from taking 17 wickets at 25.58. In nine first-class matches, he has scored 425 runs at 38.63, including a highest score of 80, to go alongside 37 wickets at 22.35.
Nazmul Hossain will act as Hassan's deputy. Both Hassan and Hossain were a part of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2014.
Missing from Bangladesh's previous campaign include Shadman Islam, now 20, who top-scored for Bangladesh with 406 runs, and Liton Das, who has graduated to the senior team.
The ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 takes place in Bangladesh between January 22 and February 14.
