Bangladesh U19s complete series sweep over Zimbabwe
Openers Anamul Haque and Amit Majumdar smashed centuries to lead Bangladesh to a comfortable 121-run victory over Zimbabwe in the fifth and final U19 ODI played at Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Bogra on Friday.
Put on to bat first, Bangladesh got a fantastic opening with Haque scoring 106 in 146 balls and Man of the Match Amit Majumder top-scoring with 129 in 133 balls. The hosts finished its innings at 270 runs for the loss of just two wickets.
In response, Zimbabwe struggled to find runs as the bowlers struck early on to apply pressure on the visitors. Sabbir Rahman was the pick of the bowling attack finishing with figures of 4-13 with able support from Shaker Ahmed (2-36 with two run-outs). The team failed to display any resistance and was bowled out for 149 in 34.4 overs. Gary Chirimuta top-scored for Zimbabwe with 40 runs in 38 balls.
