A distinct ripple ran through world cricket with Bangladesh knocking New Zealand out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in Cardiff. The significance of the victory was not lost on anyone as the plaudits flowed freely.

Accolades poured in for Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmadullah, the architects of the five-wicket win.

The stars, understandably, couldn’t get enough of the win.

It was not all doom and gloom for New Zealand, though.

Thanks to, or in spite of, Bangladesh’s feat, all eyes are now trained on the England v Australia clash.

England might have qualified for the semi-final, but it isn’t taking the old enemy lightly.
