Batter ruled out of India’s third T20I against New Zealand
The 28-year-old is set to miss the Wellington T20I as he continues his recovery from injury.
Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of India’s third T20I of the five-match series against New Zealand, set to be played on October 27.
Kishan sustained the injury during the first T20I of the series and is recovering well, as confirmed by the BCCI.
However, the wicketkeeper-batter is yet to regain match fitness, with the BCCI Medical Team continuing to monitor his progress.
Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra, who is part of the India A squad currently touring New Zealand, joined the T20I squad as cover ahead of the second T20I and will remain with the team for the third game as Kishan continues his rehabilitation.
Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had taken over the No. 3 spot in the second clash, where India sealed the deal in a thriller.
