BCB to establish its own television channel

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB has decided to establish its own television channel. A decision to this effect was taken at the 33rd BCB Board meeting in Dhaka on Tuesday.

"The BCB will start the process of establishing a television channel. A committee has been formed to expedite the procedure. The committee is headed by Media & Communications Committee Chairman Mohammed Jalal Yunus. The other members are Dewan Shafiul Arefin and Siraj Uddin Md Alamgir," BCB announced in a statement released on Wednesday.

In the other decisions taken at the meeting, former Bangladesh opener Zahid Razzak has been appointed National Team Manager for the home series' against the West Indies and Pakistan.

The BCB also Approved the draft of the Regional Cricket Association concept in principle. Board Members have been asked to come up with observations/suggestions/recommendations (if any) within the next seven days.

It was also decided that the Sylhet Divisional Stadium will be developed into an international standard facility by December 2011.
