BCCI confirm venue swap for West Indies T20Is in India
Mumbai, which was to host the first T20I at Wankhede Stadium on 6 December will now instead host the third and final match of the series on 11 December, while the opening game will be at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed on Wednesday, 27 November.
Concerns expressed by the Mumbai police, who are expected to be stretched on their ability to provide security and crowd control on that particular date, forced the reschedule, media reports said.
West Indies are set to play three T20Is and as many ODIs against India. The second T20I is scheduled for Thiruvananthapuram, while the 50-over games are in Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Cuttack.
The Caribbean side are already in the country, having completed their limited-overs assignments against Afghanistan, and are currently involved in a one-off Test against Afghanistan in Lucknow.
