BCF appoint Child Protection Officer

The Belgian Cricket Federation have recently appointed a Child Protection Officer in response to the growing number of children in cricket in Belgium and the resulting increase in overseas travel as part of BCF teams or groups.
The appointment will ensure that parents, children or coaches have a private and independent reference point to voice concerns or fears which do not necessarily warrant police involvement, or where the individuals involved are not willing to contact the police in the first instance.
The BCF stress that the Child Protection Officer is not, however, an alternative to the police, nor does her appointment imply that there is any form of abuse within cricket.
