'Best group of fast bowlers India has had' – Bharat Arun
India's pace attack, comprising of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma, claimed 14 of 20 Australian scalps in the first Test in Adelaide, thus keeping the hosts under pressure in both their batting innings.
When asked if this was India's best bowling attack of all time, Arun said, "So far, yes. I can say that not only now, [based on] what they did in Adelaide, but what they've done over a period of time, in South Africa, in England and now in Australia. This is probably the best group of fast bowlers India has had."
While India's bowlers have had success in Australia in the past, it has come in bursts of brilliance rather than in an extended display of consistency. That, according to Arun, has been the biggest change over the last few seasons.
"I think consistency was a big issue earlier," said Arun ahead of the second Test in Perth, which begins on 14 December. "That's something we have addressed with the bowlers. This is something they've really worked very hard on. They have responded well."
Australia coach Justin Langer is looking forward to the first Test to be played at the new Perth Stadium, expecting the pitch to offer plenty of pace and bounce, similar to the WACA.

Ravichandran Ashwin put in a strong performance in Adelaide and played a big role in India's 31-run victory over the hosts. The India bowling coach was full of praise for his performance in the game.
"Spinners mature a lot with age, maybe they're like wine. Ashwin has been really good," Arun pointed out. "He gave us the control in the last match. Bowling close to 90 overs for 147 runs and six wickets – you can't ask for anything more. That's the job he was entrusted with and I thought he did that exceptionally well."

Virat Kohli gave up his business class seats to give the fast bowlers more leg room in the flight from Adelaide to Perth. Arun, in support of the India skipper's decision, said a pacer must be cared for like "a racehorse".
"Fast bowlers are a precious commodity, they need to be taken care of – what you do with a racehorse, that's exactly what's happening."
While India have taken a 1-0 lead in the series, Arun expects a stiff challenge from Australia in Perth. "We are aware that its their home conditions. Also, we're aware of the fact that Australia will be coming hard at us now. But we will stick to the plan that works for us."
