Earlier, Nat Watkins justified Gough's decision to field first by dismissing Nepal's openers, Pradeep Airee (2) and Binod Bhandari (3) to leave it reeling at 7 for 2 in the fourth over. Gyanendra Malla attempted a brief recovery with a 33-ball 26, but the lack of partnerships meant the Nepal innings lacked momentum. Malla's dismissal left Nepal at 61 for 5.

That it got past the 100-run mark was courtesy Siddhant Lohani's late burst, a 16-ball 27, while Sharad Vesawkar's 16 also played a part in shoring up the total somewhat.

Watkins ended up with 3 for 20 in four overs, while Anthony Kay, who shared the new ball with Watkins, took 2 for 18, also bowling his full quota of four overs.

Jersey now has four points, with one match left. It will need to beat Ireland on Sunday to finish in the top half of the table. Nepal, who was playing its last league match, ended with three points courtesy one win and a washout. Nepal had qualified for the ICC World Twenty20 2014, but this result ended all chances of a second successive showing at the event.
