Canada rally to end Day 1 at 264-9

Canada overcame a top-order collapse to post a decent 264 for nine at the end of the first day's play against Namibia in the ICC Intercontinental Cup match at the Wanderers Cricket Ground at Windhoek on Thursday.

Canada was struggling at 46 for four. But Zeeshan Siddiqi (87: 132b, 11x4, 1x6) and Tony Gordon (42) added 112 runs for the fifth wicket to revive the innings.

Thereafter skipper Rizwan Cheema (47) and Junaid Siddiqui (35 n.o.) added 55 runs for the eighth wicket.

For Namibia, Craig Williams (3-64) and Sarel Burger (4-42) picked up the wickets.
