Cayman Islands 143/6 (O Willis 51*, C Wright 48, C Hauptsfliech 31; D Mauro 2/18, L Musiani 2/22) BEAT Argentina 100/8 (S Rossi 30; A Wright 4/11, A Morris 2/18, C Cato 2/20) by 43 runs.

A four-wicket haul for Adrian Wright helped Cayman Islands remain unbeaten in the ICC World T20 Americas Sub Regional Qualifier on the fourth day of the tournament being played in Argentina.

Batting first, Cayman Islands posted 143/6 in their 20 overs against Argentina on Thursday 1 March at the Belgrano AC ground. The Argentine batsmen struggled in the face of a strong bowling performance, getting to only 100/8 in their quota of overs to slip to a 43-run loss.

The Cayman Islands total was built around Omar Willis’s fifty and Conroy Wright’s blistering cameo. After losing a wicket in the first over, C Hauptsfliech, the opener, and Willis combined to steady the innings with a 54-run partnership for the second wicket.

But at 88/5 in the 17th over, Lautaro Musiani having triggered a middle-order collapse, Cayman Islands were struggling before Wright's innings changed the complexion of the contest.

He was at the crease for just a quarter of an hour, but managed to face 19 of the final 22 balls of the innings, plundering 48 runs in the process before being dismissed by the final ball of the 20th over. He was later named player of the match.

The Argentina reply never got going, and just batting out the overs was an achievement as four wickets fell within the first six overs. Corey Cato and Alessandro Morris made the early incisions before Adrian Wright struck twice in consecutive balls in the sixth over to reduce Argentina to 23/4.

Wright struck again in the 10th and 12th overs to complete a four-wicket haul. Some resistance from Santiago Rossi in particular, who made a brave 30 off 19, ensured Argentina made it to three figures, but Cayman Islands still completed an easy 48-run win.

Cayman Islands have now won all three of their matches in the tournament.
