Central Women's Cricket Challenge to be held in PNG

Cricket PNG will be hosting the Central Women's Cricket Challenge from the February 25 to to March 15 all around the Central Province.

Eight Central Provincial Divisions will play off in round robin matches to determine the champion in each division.

The eight champion teams will then compete for the Central Women's Cricket Cup in Port Moresby on the March 15.

This event is in celebration of the PNG Women's Lewas Cricket Team that will be going to the ICC East Asia Pacific (EAP) Women's Regional World Cup Qualifier will be held in Sano, Japan in early May 2010.

Only the winning team of the ICC EAP trophy will progress to the next stage which is playing in a World Cup Qualification tournament where the Top 4 nations go through to the actual World Cup.

PNG is currently ranked 15th in the world.
