Chennai Super Kings maintain winning streak

In Match 15 of the DLF Indian Premier League (IPL), the Chennai Super Kings defeated the Bangalore Royal Challengers by 13 runs.
The Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat at the Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore.
After losing their openers Matthew Hayden and Parthiv Patel cheaply, the Chennai side looked in a spot of bother when Suresh Raina along with Michael Hussey steadied the ship.
But it was after the fall of Raina’s wicket that Dhoni came in and propelled the Chennai Super Kings total to 165 in their allotted 20 overs. Dhoni scored a brisk 65 off 30 balls and shared a 95-run partnership with Hussey for the fourth wicket.
Among the Bangalore bowlers, Zaheer Khan came out with the best figures of 3 for 38 in his quota of 4 overs in the match.
The Bangalore Royal Challengers lost their opener Bharat Chipli early in the innings but Wasim Jaffer and Ross Taylor’s 89-run partnership for the second wicket put Bangalore in a healthy position of 102/1 when Jaffer lost his wicket.
After that, Bangalore started losing wickets at regular intervals and post Taylor’s departure, none of the batsmen put up a fight. The Bangalore Royal Challengers lost their last seven wickets for just 38 runs and could only manage 165 with two balls to spare falling short by 13 runs.
Among the Chennai bowlers, Manpreet Gony picked up 3 wickets while Joginder Sharma and Palani Amarnath picked up 2 wickets a piece.
This was the Chennai Super Kings’ fourth win in as many matches. The Bangalore Royal Challengers have won one of their four matches.
The next match of the IPL is between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens at Kolkata today.
