Cook Islands Cricket Announce 2011 Elite Umpires Panel

Cook Islands Cricket is pleased to announce its elite Motor Centre umpires panel for the first half of 2011.

The elite umpires? panel will be in for a busy and productive year as they are set to officiate in Telecom high performance matches, Turtles Domestic League II matches and potentially travel to Northern Districts (NZ) under the SPPP umpires agreement where they will be mentored by Northern Districts umpires and officiate in Northern Districts tournaments.

Umpire Oliver Syme said that it is the first time that Cook Islands Cricket has selected an umpires panel and believes it is representative of the importance Cook Islands Cricket has placed on the development of officials in the country over the past 12 months.

Syme also believes that opportunities to travel to officiate in ICC Pepsi Tournaments will provide inspiration for the 80 strong band of qualified Motor Centre umpires in the Cook Islands to further their professional development.
