Cricket Bali to host Prahran Cricket Club
The 'Cricket Bali' based players from the Indonesian national side will get a chance to prepare for their up coming ICC EAP tournament in Samoa when they take on some cricketers from the Prahran Cricket Club.
Prahran Cricket Club play in the prestigious Cricket Victoria Premier League and what started out as a pre season break has now turned into an 'international' fixture that will benefit both sides' preparations for the near future.
Prahran will not take to the field for points until the first weekend in October when round one of the Cricket Victoria Premier League gets underway, while some of the 'Cricket Bali' based players will have a chance to play some quality opposition prior to the EAP Men's Cricket Trophy which starts on September 17th in Apia, Samoa.
The 'Cricket Bali' invitation side will have national team players that include 19 year old Putra Darmawan who will also make his debut as captain of the Indonesian senior men's side after his great efforts in leading the Indonesian u/19s team earlier this year.
Darmawan is a right arm medium pacer and middle order batsmen, he is also a member of the ICC EAP squad and will attend Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane later this year.
Ex Australian under 19s player, Cameron Huckett will lead the Prahran attack with his lively right arm fast mediums along with the tour captain Paul Sealy who has a whippy action similar to the scary West Indies attack of the early 90s.
The game will be a 35-over-a-side and played at Bali's premier cricket venue, Bukit Oval on Saturday 29 August.
