An accident left her confined to a wheelchair. However, she has refused to let that restrict her from making a positive change in the world.

“At the age of 18, when all your life you’ve been a champion, I broke my neck and suffered a spinal cord injury, and became paralysed. Suddenly, when such a thing happens, you’re devastated,” she told ICC 360. “I lost my entire sense of identity. I was like, how does one learn to live like this? I didn’t know I could.”

Srinivasan has since set up the Soulfree foundation. “My goal is to help as many people as I can, to get them out of their homes … to convert the so-called disabled, and to show the world that we are positively-abled,” she said.
