Cricket Ireland announce Sponsorship deal with Volkswagen Ireland

Cricket Ireland have announced a sponsorship deal with Volkswagen Ireland, which will see the company become an a official car partner of Cricket Ireland.

Adam Chamberlain, Head of Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Ireland said of the sponsorship deal: "Volkswagen is delighted to become the official car partner of Cricket Ireland. The partnership with cricket reflects our shared values of high quality, performance and excitement. We are proud to include Cricket Ireland in our portfolio of sponsorships and ambassadors within sport.

Volkswagen?s involvement in sport has grown significantly and we are proud to add cricket to our current partnerships in rugby, golf and hurling through our sponsorships and ambassadors."

Warren Deutrom, CEO of Cricket Ireland endorsed the sponsorship agreement saying: "Cricket Ireland is delighted to welcome Volkswagen Ireland to our family of sponsors. To have another globally-recognised brand, alongside that of team sponsor RSA, associated with Irish cricket is a clear indication that the sport in Ireland is going from strength to strength.

"In such difficult times economically, it is terrific that our own brand and profile is continuing to grow among the business community. It is a timely boost in the year that we are applying for enhanced status with ICC, our team participated in the ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, and we are about to host world champions Australia in a one-day international in Dublin."
