Cricket presentations to Austrian teachers

Ralph Dellor visited Austrai from 26-28 February to make presentations to some 70 schoolteachers at the Padagogischen Institut des Bundes (PIB) in Vienna in the hope that they will introduce cricket into their school curriculum.

Some were language teachers who can see the use of cricket to teach English, while the majority were involved in physical education, interested in the game for its own sake.

The teachers took part in games of continuous cricket, pairs cricket and went through a number of practice routines.

As a result of these presentations it is hoped to establish inter-school fixtures during the summer and the PIB is keen for further presentations to primary school teachers.
