Cricket Scotland has today unveiled their new corporate logo. The striking shield logo, encompassing two of Scotland?s traditional symbols of the thistle and the Saltire, along with a cricket ball integrated within the thistle, will replace the previous cricket ball logo, which has been used by the governing body since 2004. The logo will also use blue as its predominant colour, replacing red.

The logo, which can be used with the words Cricket Scotland either in portrait or landscape style, will adorn the playing kit of all Scotland representative sides, from the Under 15 team to the senior squads. The standalone thistle will still be used on the helmets and playing caps of the senior international sides. Cricket Scotland?s new playing kit, supplied by KALLI, will be launched in the next three weeks and will be worn for the first time when the Scotland side plays in the UAE towards the end of February.

During 2013 Cricket Scotland will roll out the new logo across all its mediums. Commenting on the new logo, Roddy Smith, Chief Executive of Cricket Scotland stated, "We are delighted with the new corporate identity. The aim was to produce a clearly Scottish logo which incorporates a cricketing element. The Thistle and the Saltire are the two most easily recognisable Scottish symbols and we were keen to have both in our logo, especially with the strong connection between Scotland cricket sides and the name Saltires, which has been used for Scottish teams during our time in English domestic competitions. We have also returned to the traditional Scottish colours of blue and white."

The new logo will feature for the first time when Cricket Scotland also launch a refreshed website on Thursday 31 January. To logon to the revamped website visit www.cricketscotland.com
