A 0-0 drawn series with host Bangladesh has resulted in New Zealand dropping four ratings points, but it has retained its eighth rank on the Reliance ICC Test Team Rankings table.

The second and final Test of the series ended in a draw on Thursday/Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Eighth-ranked New Zealand entered the series with 79 ratings points, leading Bangladesh by 69 ratings points. As such, because the rankings are weighted to reflect this difference, Brendon McCullum’s men would have gained just one ratings point if it had won both the Tests.

Host Bangladesh, ranked tenth, had entered the series with 10 ratings points. The 0-0 series result meant that it gained eight ratings points to end at 18 and thereby reduced the gap with ninth-ranked Zimbabwe to 16.

The Test Rankings table, unlike the ODI Rankings table, is updated only after the conclusion of the series. To find out exactly how forthcoming Test series will affect the Rankings table, please clickhere.
