ECC Umpiring Introductory Course in Sweden

On the weekend of 16th ? 18th March, ECC Umpires Ken Amos and Dennis Stones travelled to Stockholm to hold an Introductory Course Umpiring Course.

Though it was anticipated that 20 students would be attending such was the interest that had been engendered, Ken and Dennis were pleasantly surprised to find that 24 turned up on the first evening.
Throughout the course Ken and Dennis were kept on their toes by the barrage of questions that were fired at them. As well as covering the Laws the students were keenly interested in man management and discipline. Everybody was enthusiastic and participated fully with discussions and questions continuing at breaks and after the course ended each day.

Ken and Dennis were well looked after by their hosts in Stockholm who ensured they were fed and watered and provided with an excellent taxi service.

Ken's commented on the success of the course saying, ?It was a rewarding weekend that will contribute to the ongoing development of Umpiring in Sweden. The commitment showed by the students was encouraging and some are already looking for the next step on the umpiring ladder in Europe."
