England women have beaten New Zealand by six wickets in the third and final ODI at Bert Sutcliffe Oval to win the series three nil.

Chasing 221 to win the English easily made the required runs to complete the game after 42.4 overs.

New Zealand opted to bat first and looked comfortable at 63 for one. New Zealand continued to steadily accumulate runs, but also lost wickets at regular intervals.

The middle order delivered for the home side though as Amy Satterthwaite (58) and Katie Perkins (51) both brought up half centuries to make sure their side would finish with a competitive total.

A late collapse meant New Zealand were all out after 48.4 overs with 220 on the board.

Laura Marsh was the best of the bowlers for England and finished with figures of three for 28 from ten overs.

In reply England looked fragile as they lost two early wickets, including captain Charlotte Edwards for nine.

However after that it was all the visitors as Sarah Taylor and Lydia Greenway put on an incredible 201 for the third wicket.

Taylor finished with 106 not out, while Greenway contributed 84. After 42.4 overs England made the required runs to win by six wickets and complete an unbeaten tour.

Rachel Candy was the pick of the New Zealand bowlers and finished with figures of two for 35 from eight.
