First Ever Senior Cricket Competition in Luganville

With the ongoing Cricket Development in Vanuatu's Sanma Province and the interest picking up especially in Luganville, the Sanma Provincial Cricket Office through it's development program is running it's first ever Senior Men's Cricket competition beginning 17th September.

The purpose and aim of this competition is to get those who had been involved or had played cricket in the past and those who might have not involved themselves in some sort of cricket but are interested in playing as an alternative sport and to show case their individual skills of cricket.

The Sanma Province Cricket Office feels it is everyone's responsibility to join hands together through different activities involving cricket to develop this new and exciting game in Luganville and Sanma province.

The tournament will begin on Saturday 17th of September and will run into the month of December with matches to be played every Saturday. However for those who are interested but could not make it on Saturdays, arrangements will be made for alternative dates to suit them. All competition matches will be played at the College de Santo sports ground. On the opening day of competition, there will an official launch at the College de Santo sports ground from 9am on Saturday 17th September 2011.

The Cricket Development Office expects to register up to four(4) teams for this competition and therefore wishes to inform members of the public in Luganville, who are interested in taking part in this competition to register their teams or names at the following locations; IT Business Centre at Hotel Santo, St Therese School, Luganville Municipal Council Sport Office, Fisheries Office, Agriculture College and Cricket Development Office at Sanma province or phone number 5924419 or email glele.vanuatucricket@vanuatu.com.vu

There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the winners.
